SRF Team Members attend 2019 Minnesota Transportation Alliance Washington, D.C. Fly-In

SRF team members participated in the 2019 Minnesota Transportation Alliance Washington, D.C. Fly-In last week, meeting with USDOT officials and members of the Minnesota Congressional delegation to advocate for some of Minnesota’s high-profile transportation improvement projects, strengthen Minnesota’s position in securing federal funds for highly competitive grants (such as INFRA and BUILD), and encourage our elected officials to reauthorize the FAST Act for transportation funding, which is critical to safety, economic competitiveness, and quality of life.

Kevin Jullie and Khani Sahebjam accompanied Carver County commissioners to meet with USDOT Intergovernmental Affairs leadership. Carver County’s focus is on Highway 212, a project SRF is designing, but lacks funding to complete. Kevin and Khani also met with senators and congressmen to talk about potential advancements on TH 610 in Maple Grove.

Andy Mielke assisted Wright and Hennepin County representatives in talking with officials about TH 55 improvements between I-494 in the Twin Cities and the City of Annandale. This includes future funding to extend the four-lane section west to CSAH 19 and the City of Loretto. As part of this effort, they met with four Congressional members and visited with Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith. Andy also represented the Highway 52 Coalition, which includes Olmsted, Goodhue, and Dakota Counties.
