Our dynamic and successful ITS/CAV Group is seeking a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer. This position would be based in our Minneapolis office with the opportunity to work on a hybrid model. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will contribute to the development and management of a variety of transportation technology systems, including ITS/CAV and related traffic engineering areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of staff and technical work for complex transportation projects/studies.
  • Business development activities including marketing and building/establishing client relationships.
  • Working with internal company groups and external clients.
  • Assisting group leadership in developing and implementing a strategic growth plan for the market.
  • Developing and mentoring staff to grow the group in the Minneapolis office.
  • Leading the planning, design, and implementation of ITS/CAV, advanced traffic management systems, transit technologies, electrical design, intelligent work zones, and wireless and fiber networks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in traffic / transportation engineering or civil engineering.
  • 8+ years of prior related traffic engineering experience is preferred.
  • MN PE or the ability to attain within 6 months.
  • Ability to lead tasks, manage projects, and provide mentorship, growth, and development opportunities for traffic engineering staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven technical writing ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets. Experience with CADD (Microstation, AutoCAD), and experience with traffic engineering software is a plus.
  • ITS, CAV, or related transportation technology experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
