Nestled alongside Acorn Lake, the Heartland Trail extension between Detroit Lakes and Frazee in Becker County, Minnesota, offers the perfect opportunity to take in the scenery while enjoying outdoor recreation. SRF is proud to help create valuable community amenities such as this that provide local recreational options and attract visitors to the area.
For this project, SRF provided design assistance to develop alignment options for this challenging segment of multiuse trail. Upon completion of the design process, SRF was selected to provide construction administration and oversight services during the construction of the trail, including construction staking and inspections of the various walls and stabilized embankments to ensure minimal impacts to adjacent natural resources.
The final product showcases some of the area’s finest views and provides a safe and enjoyable trail that preserves the surrounding natural resources.
