Information gathered from the four Integrated Transit Studies led by SRF for the Rochester Destination Medical Center (DMC) initiative were recently approved by the City of Rochester and the DMCC Board. The studies focused on parking demand and locations and travel management, understanding how downtown streets function currently and defining future usage, identifying a multi-use bicycle and pedestrian trail, and determining multiple transit route improvements. The overall plan aims to meet the needs of the rapid growth of the city’s transportation, with the goal of reducing downtown commuters reliance on personal vehicles by providing reliable, efficient multi-modal and transit options. The plan also aims to simultaneously create a safer environment for patients, visitors, pedestrians, and bikers. Read more about SRF efforts here.
