For the second consecutive year, Elizabeth “Liz” Stolz was recognized by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) for her contributions as a member of the Standing Committee on Highway Traffic Monitoring. This year’s Research: Identifying and Advancing Ideas for Research Blue Ribbon Award includes her leadership in the development of the 2017 Transportation Research Circular E-C227, Advancing Highway Traffic Monitoring Through Strategic Research.
According to TRB’s website, the members of the Standing Committee on Highway Traffic Monitoring received this award “for identifying approximately 90 new research ideas over six years through the development of two e-Circulars and collaboration with multiple committees and organizations.” These awards are presented at the TRB Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., every year.

In 2024, Liz also received an Exceptional Leadership and Service Award from TRB as a Standing Committee on Highway Traffic Monitoring member. The Diversity: Increasing the Diversity of Committee Members Blue Ribbon Award honored Liz for her work “fostering diversity and inclusivity by actively engaging and promoting young professionals and individuals from under-represented groups.”
