Jim Gersema, PE

Jim has 20 years of experience working on municipal engineering projects. As SRF’s transit design lead, he has served as the project manager or lead designer on many projects that required careful balancing of a variety of design objectives.

As a specialist in urban design, he is well versed in the current design practices relating to ADA and pedestrian safety and brings an ability to incorporate those practices into successful projects. Jim effectively communicates engineering details in a clear and easy to understand way, keeping project stakeholders and the public well informed.

Jim has been a part of nearly every major transit improvement in Minnesota including the Red Line, Orange Line, Gold Line and Purple Line BRT projects.
