Renae has 20 years of experience in traffic engineering. Her experience covers a wide range of traffic engineering areas, providing a well-rounded understanding of traffic operations, impacts, and safety. She is highly proficient with many traffic engineering applications, including MnCMAT, CORSIM, Traffix, SYNCHRO, HCS, and SimTraffic. Renae has been heavily involved in the technical analysis for many safety-related studies, including road safety plans, road safety audits, and safe routes to school studies. Renae was the recipient of the 2019 Engineering Star Award from Minnesota’s Toward Zero Deaths program. Her safety project experience includes:

  • NDDOT Statewide Local Road Safety Plans
  • Brown County Safety Plan, Wisconsin
  • Statewide County Road Safety Plans,  North Dakota
  • Statewide County Road Safety Plans, Minnesota

Since 2008, Renae has been the project manager for SRF’s ongoing research contracts with Minnesota’s Local Road Research Board (LRRB).  She works with local agency representatives and oversees the development of persuasive products that clearly communicate research results to the City and County Engineers of Minnesota. Renae also manages the LRRB Outreach and Marketing efforts and manages the development of professional journal articles, website content, presentations, and the LRRB Newsletter.
