SRF led light rail station planning for four METRO Blue Line Extension stations in Minneapolis and Golden Valley. The planning process consisted of an in-depth technical assessment of each station area, which included a market and housing analysis, multimodal access and circulation plans, identification of key development sites, stormwater management plan development, and identification of potential public realm and infrastructure improvements.
Critical to the technical analysis and implementation of the plans, SRF assisted Hennepin County and the Cities of Minneapolis and Golden Valley with extensive public engagement regarding station area planning and development. Engagement efforts included a working group for each station, stakeholder charrettes, a series of open houses, interviews with local property owners and developers, as well as participation in community-led events.
