In recognition of its many years of support, the Plymouth Civic League has named SRF the recipient of the 2017 Music in Plymouth Award. Former SRF President and longtime PCL board member Randy Geerdes accepted the award at the 45th annual outdoor concert event on July 5th.
SRF’s dedication to the Music in Plymouth event dates back more than 40 years when SRF founding partners Frank Strgar and Robert Roscoe pledged their corporate support to help raise community spirit. Geerdes continued SRF’s tradition of support by serving on the PCL Board of Directors from 1990 to 2013 before being elected PCL Director Emeritus in 2014. During his tenure, Randy was an active member of several committees and helped oversee the design and construction of the Hilde Performance Center.
SRF has been performing work here in the City of Plymouth for more than 40 years, and our company has basically grown at the same time as the City. – Randy Geerdes
Today, the Music in Plymouth event is an annual summer extravaganza that attracts more than 15,000 people with live music, family activities, and fireworks. The Music in Plymouth Award was created in 2012 to recognize individuals, groups, or companies that have made significant contributions to the ongoing success of the event. SRF proudly continues to support the event with Michael Mohs (Municipal Group) now serving on the PCL Board and various committees.
