WisDOT’s design-build bridge project just south of Lone Rock reached a milestone last week when the section of WIS 133 west of the existing WIS 130/133 intersection reopened to traffic. That section of WIS 133 had been closed since July 2023 for reconstruction as part of the larger WIS 130 bridge project over the Wisconsin River.
Construction of the new WIS 130 alignment, which includes construction of two new bridge crossings, began in late 2022. Traffic is anticipated to shift to the new road alignment and new bridges in fall 2024. Removal of the existing structures and alignment will be completed in 2024-2025.
